Tourism promotion all Nepalis’ duty: President Bhandari



Godawari (Kailali), Jan 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said it is the responsibility of all Nepalis to promote tourism with proper protection and promotion of culture and natural assets of the country.

Inaugurating the Godawari Amrit Mahasnan Dibya Kumbhadharshan festival here on Thursday, President Bhandari said, “Nepal is not only the holy abode of rishismuni and seers, various glorious civilizations have evolved on the banks of many rivers here. A country full of natural and cultural beauty Nepal has diligent and fortunate people.”

Profounder of Sankhya philosophy, Maharshi Kapil; icon of peace, Gautam Buddha; the erudite rishi Pulaha are the great humans of Nepal, the President said, adding that various ethnicities and communities have played vital role to build and nurture the culture and civilization here.

According to her, coordination, cooperation and good will can contribute to the building of new Nepal. She also hoped the festival would help inspire all for unity, peace, fraternity and coexistence.

On the occasion, Omkaranand Saraswati was honoured by the President.

At the programme, Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Rawal said Nepal’s constitution has ensured the protection of time honoured religions and religious freedom. “Time has come for us to devote to sustainable peace, and economic prosperity,” he stressed.

Lawmaker from the Godawari region of the district Dirgha Raj Bhat expressed the belief that the festival would help develop Godawari religious area.
