Tourists missing at Mt Annapurna



KATHMANDU, March 25: A Nepali and a Finnish went missing from the Mount Annapurna on Tuesday.

According to Gyanendra Shrestha, an official at the Department of Toursim, the missing persons have been identified as Pemba Sherpa of Makalu VDC, Sankhuwasabha and Mikasanuly Namsakka from Finland.

Shrestha informed that the duo had gone to scale the mountain through the Dreamers Destination Trek on March 3.

It has been learnt that they had gone missing while descending the mountain yesterday.

A Simrik Airlines chopper has been sent to the incident site for the rescue operation.

Mt Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world at 8,091 metres (26,545 ft) above the sea level.
