Two killed after being swept away by flood

Bajura, May 25: Two children died after being swept away by flood on Kawadi rivulet in Bajura district on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as 10-year-old Nikhil Budha, and six-year-old Dirgha Budha of Rugin VDC-6. Four people also sustained injuries in the incident.

Similarly, the flood also swept away around 50 houses of the settlement. The details of the losses caused by the flood have yet to be received. The flood also swept away 30 goats and seven cows.

The incident site lies three days’ walk from the district headquarters, Martadi. A team from Bichchhya Police Post has been mobilized at the incident site for the rescue, said Chief District Officer, Bhojraj Shrestha. RSS
