Vote count, budget after two-phased election

KATHMANDU, April 28: The meeting of the top leaders of the parties, representing in the Legislature-Parliament, has been positive to bring the budget and count votes after the completion of the two-phased election.

The leaders attending the all-party meeting at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, Friday evening, were positive on the post election vote count and budget announcement, reasoning that the budget and vote count between the elections would affect the election of the second phase, said PM’s press advisor Govind Acharya.

Following the meeting, Chief Whip of CPN-UML, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, said, “Most of the leaders suggested for the election on the single date. If not, it would be appropriate to announce budget and count vote after the elections.”

According to PM Dahal’s press advisor Acharya, the PM said that this was the first meeting of all parties represented in the Parliament and there would be maximum efforts from the government side to conclude the constitution amendment bill based on national consensus.

During the meeting, discussions were held to urge the Election Commission for vote counts after concluding both phases of elections to be held on May 14 and June 14.

PM Dahal, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML leader Agni Kharel and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, RPP leader Pashupati Shumsher Rana, Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Federal Socialist Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Anil Kumar Jha and leaders of other political parties were present at the meeting.
