Won’t give into theirs demands : Minister Acharya



Kathmandu, May 10. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Bhim Prasad Acharya has said that he won’t give into the demands of protestors unless they drpwn back from their demands, speaking at the interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday.

He said he would not give in to protests of tourism entrepreneurs.He has also ruled out possibility of talks unless the agitators call off their protests.He said, “At first, the entrepreneurs should postpone the protests. Otherwise, there will not be any talks” speaking at the interaction program presided by the Reporters’ Club Nepal’s president Rishi Dhamala.

Minister Acharya has claimed that the government has already paid its flexibility on the protestors’ demands, He said, “They also have to fulfill their commitments to begin talks as they have committed with me.”

In the concerns of the hefty financial activities in the NTB,Acharya pledges to let the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to investigate the alleged charges. He further requested to have the tabling in the such issues as the protesters demands. He said,” we have to take the legal way for resolving the such issues. Protest can’t solve the problems. we need to seek the peaceful dialogue.”

Likewise Minister stressed that the he will allow to operate the closed casinos only in the conditioanal term.He said,” for operating the closed casinos,first they must clear the dues royalty. He opined that the casinos were opened in order to concentrate in the three basic things especially. First for collecting more taxes, to generate huge employment opportunities & make the entry of more tourists. He said,” but we have here not conducting to meet our principle goals of operating casinos”. He further stressed that the government is seeking to provide the facilities to the local investors in the new casinos under the new policy.

Similarly, Minister Acharya has stressed that the ministry is going to seek the appropriate investment make the well- modernized Tribhuvan International Airport. Like this, He has informed that the ministry has prepared to build the International Airport in the Lumbini, Pokhara and Nijgad and the International Cargo in the Dhanagadi. He sought that if the above mentioned projects were done then there would be increased the numbers of the tourist in the upcoming days.He said,” In my tenure, I will try my best to bring the 22 airoplane within 5 years.
Claiming that there is no more syndicate in the Airport, Acharya has said if there would be find any syndicate in the peripheral of the Airport then ministry will take an action against them.

Presided president of the program Rishi Dhamala has stressed to table for ending the current situations of the tourism sectors. He said,” Tourism sectors is the most important sectors for the nation development, for this we all should be unite to resolve the current problems.” He further stressed that to make the crucial and peaceful environment with long-term policy & planning for bringing the 10 lakh tourists in the country.

by demanding to disposal of the Nepal Tourism Board’s Acting Executive
Chief Mr. Subas Niraula since the last week.
