World’s fifth tallest skyscraper opens in Seoul



Lotte World Tower, world’s fifth tallest skyscraper

SEOUL, April 4: South Korea celebrated the opening of Lotte World Tower, the country’s tallest landmark building located in Seoul.

Over 30,000 fireworks were used during the grand opening ceremony at the 123-story, 555 meter-high tower, which is also the world’s fifth tallest skyscraper.

The goliath building also houses a hotel, offices, restaurants, a shopping mall luxury residences and observatory floors.

The top five tallest buildings in the world

1. Burj Khalifa, United Arab Emirates, 2,717 feet tall,

2. Shanghai Tower, China, 2,073 feet

3. Abraj Al-Bait, Saudi Arabia, 1,971 feet

4. Ping An Finance Centre, China,  1,965 feet

5. Lotte World Tower, South Korea,  1,819, feet
