Four stab villager to death over water dispute in Eastern Nepal



KHOTANG: A minor dispute on drinking water issue took a nasty turn, leaving a man in Khotang district dead. A gang comprising Sanjay Rai (22), Sarij Rai (18), Bijay Rai and Rajkumar Rai (35) of Sunsari Baklauri VDC Ward No 5 stabbed Ramesh Rai of Temma VDC Ward No 5, Khotang to death following the dispute on drinking water issue, police confirmed.

Ramesh died on the spot on Friday night.

Police said that the group stacked Ramesh with sharp-edged knife after the brawl ensued between the two sides about the drinking water in a public place, said police.

The dead body has been sent to District Hospital Diktel for post mortem.

Police arrested all four persons involved in the incident and initiated a legal process for action, said Deputy Police Superintendent of Police, Rajeev Basnet.
