My India trip was successful, Prachanda says

KATHMANDU: Upon arrival at home from India, Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said India trip was successful to build an environment of trust between the two countries.

Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport upon completion his four-day visit to India on Tuesday, Chairman Dahal said, “My visit to India was taken significantly by the Indian prime minister and leaders.”

The Indian leaders stressed on holding Constituent Assembly election in November in order to conclude the political transition begun after the historic 12-point understanding, he said. “Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh also gave special emphasis on holding CA election in November. The leaders expressed the commitment to helping Nepal in any area essential for the election. They also hoped that it would lead Nepal to political stability.”

Moreover, leader Dahal said his proposal of tri-lateral strategic partnership was taken very positively by the Indian leaders. They said it could be implemented after reaching the two-country relations to a new height.

Chairman Dahal said though this proposal could not come to effect in sight, it would render positive effect in the long run. According to him, the tri-lateral strategic partnership would bring sweeping change in Nepal’s economy.
