KATHMANDU: Brushing aside the criticisms from different civil society members, a section of media and Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), the Constitutional Council (CC) on Sunday recommended Lokman Singh Karki as the chief commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for six years term.
Karki was the chief secretary of the government under the direct rule of former king Gyanendra Shah.
Earlier, the CC recommended Karki to head the anti-graft body after the High Level Political Committee to recommend Karki to head the CIAA.
The CC meeting also recommended former Finance Secretary Bhanu Prasad Acharya as the Auditor General and Kayo Devi Yami as the chief commissioner of Public Service Commission (PSC).
