UML candidate Alam’s murder by party colleague!
Kathmandu: Police has arrested former CPN (UML) lawmaker Ram Chandra Pyasi Kuswaha along with two other Indian nationals in connection of the murder of same party’s Bara-4 candidate Mohammad Alam. Police has claimed that Kusawaha was the mastermind of Alam’s murder. It has also said that the accused had made a thorough planning to kill Alam from six months ahead of his murder.
UML Central Committee Member Alam was shot at in Bara on October 4 by an unidentified gang of motorcycle-borne assailants, who eventually died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu on October 10.
According to Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), they have nabbed UML leader Kuswaha, also a member of UML’s National Represantative Council, along with Atik Khan and Raju Shrivastav, who are the Indian natives.
The accused trio has been made public amid a press conference in Bara today. The CIB has also made the sketch of two other absconding accused. The CIB has claimed that it has sufficient evidences to corroborate the involvement of the accused in the murder of Alam.
According to the Police, the accused have murdered Alam with the help of Indian sharp-shooters. CIB said that two suspects followed Alam from the home on the day of shooting and shot him at Chawasati Mill at Parwanipur. They fled to Birgunj instantly in the motorcycle after shooting him, said Police adding that they left the motorcycle in Birgunj and went to Raksaul crossing the nearby border.
