Disputed issues should be finalised soon: NC



Kathmandu, June 3: The Nepali Congress (NC) has stressed the need of finalizing the disputed issues soon by giving priority to constitution writing.

A meeting of the NC held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar this morning held discussions regarding how to forge consensus on the major complex issues of the new constitution like state restructuring at a time when intensive discussions were underway among the major political parties to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution, said NC Spokesperson Dilendra Badu.

Badu said the meeting drew a conclusion to promulgate the new constitution by finalizing the disputed issues by giving priority to the new constitution, after reviewing the meeting held among the four political parties on Tuesday.

The meeting also discussed about the work procedure and reviewed the undergoing discussion regarding the new constitution, disaster management and formation of national unity government, said Assistant General Secretary, Purna Bahadur Khadka.

A meeting has been scheduled between the NC and CPN (UML) today itself.

Present in the meeting were Prime Minister and NC President Sushil Koirala, Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, General Secretary duo Prakashman Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Assistant General Secretary Khadka and NC Spokesperson Badu, among others. RSS
