Nembang picked as UML parliamentary party deputy leader; Dhakal chief whip
Kathmandu, Jan 5: Ruling party CPN-UML has picked former Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang as the deputy leader of its parliamentary party and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal as the chief whip.
A meeting of the UML’s parliamentary party meeting held at Prime Minister’s Residence, Baluwatar, this evening unanimously nominated Nembang and Dahakal to the respective positions, shared UML’s whip Gokul Gharty.Prime Minister and UML parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli has proposed Nembang to the position.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Oli said the unofficial Indian blockade would be eased soon. Nepal should get trade transit right as a land-locked country, PM Oli stressed while informing that a trade transit agreement would be signed with another neighbouring country in coming days.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that the dialogue with the agitating Madhesi parties would reach to a conclusion in near days.
