Nepal stresses on uplifting women in society



Kathmandu, Jan 22: CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said the new constitution has guaranteed woman’s right to parental property.
In an interaction held by Motidevi Memorial Centre here Friday, leader Nepal said the women from Dalit community, Madhes, indigenous and the marginalized communities were still lagging behind in the society. The government must make special arrangement to uplift their lifestyle.
On the occasion, UML Vice Chairperson and Centre Chairperson Asta Laxmi Shakya stressed on equal participation in all state organs on basis of the spirit of proportionality and inclusiveness.
Former House Speaker Purna Kumar Subedi said it was a challenge of women’s rights activists to guide the implementation of the women’s rights.
