Govt. works following the due process and need of the hour: PM Oli

Kathmandu, April 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all sides for cooperation in the National Identity Card issuing process as the government was working out to launch the cards considering national security and the need of the hour.

Speaking in the meeting of the Public Account Committee (PAC) under the Legislature-Parliament today, PM Oli drew the attention of the lawmakers not to suspect the government’s activities thinking that there might be weaknesses in the process.

He added that the government does not work out being based only on the predictions and guesses; however, it works following the due process and need of the hour.

PM Oli clarified that no personal confidentiality and information would be leaked out through the cards adding that the government was serious in terms of the citizen’s and national security.

He added that the people and nation should take advantage from such card system. PM Oli expressed pleasure over the concern and cooperation of the committee as it was helping the process with deeper analysis in this connection.

The PM further expected the cooperation from the committee to forward the process. The government was working out to issue such identity cards replacing the citizenship certificates. The Asian Development Bank is supporting the project. RSS
