UDMF positive towards govt move



Kathmandu, Aug 5: The government is found ready to materialize the agreement made between the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre) and United Democratic Madhesi Front.

A meeting held between the government and the UDMF leaders at the office of the Prime Minister in Singh Durbar today discussed about the previous agreement made with the Front by the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress on August 3 just before the election of the Prime Minister.

The government has expressed commitment to take initiation to materialize the agreement including announcement of the martyrs, compensation to the families of martyrs, free of cost treatment to injured people and to form an investigation commission to probe into the atrocities during the Tarai protest.

The Front leaders including Upendra Yadav and Raj Kishor Yadav have stated that they were positive towards government’s move regarding their demands hoping for the materialization of the demands as the government called them for talks a day after its formation.

Also present in the meeting were Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Government Ministers and Front leaders Upendra Yadav, Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahto among others. RSS
