Pakistan defeats Nepal by 6 wickets in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup

KATHMANDU, March 27: Pakistan U-23 defeated Nepal by six wickets in their first match of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup on Monday.

Pakistan completed the 181-run target set by Nepal in 45.1 overs with the loss of four wickets in the match played at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground in Bangladesh.

Opener Imam-ul-Haq of Pakistan scored highest 104 runs, Hamam Azam (not out) 22 Imran But scored 21 to reach the target. Captain Gyanendra Mall and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each

Earlier, batting first Gyanendra Malla (2) and Sagar Pun (4) exited early.  Opener Sunil Dhamala scored 43, Sharad Vesawkar added 38, Binod Bhandari hit 24, Dependra Singh Airee scored 14 and Aarif Sheikh (not out)  contributed 18 runs for Nepal.

For Pakistan, Ghulam Mudassar claimed 5 wickets, Usama Mir two and Bilal Asif and Zafar Gohar picked one wicket each.

Nepal will face Bangladesh on Tuesday and Hong Kong on Thursday.
