EC halts printing of ballot papers for FPTP election to consult with legal experts
KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The Election Commission has halted printing of ballot papers for the First-Past-The-Post election for the upcoming federal and provincial election following Supreme Court’s ruling on Wednesday and has engaged in legal consultation with the legal experts.
The meeting is analyzing the SC’s order from legal and technical aspects and will reach a conclusion by Sunday evening, according to EC close sources.
The EC has already completed printing of ballot papers for the proportional representation (PR) system.
The elections are scheduled for November 26 and December 7.
