UML-Maoist Center unification at decisive turn: Prachanda
BARDIBAS, Feb 17: CPN (Maoist Center) Chari Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that stability and prosperity of the federal democratic republic is now the agenda of the country.
Addressing a mass meeting organized by the CPN (Maoist Center) Mahottari Committee at Benkhadi Bazaar, Bardibas Municipality-8 in Mahottari district on Saturday, Dahal said all should now focus their attention to the prosperity of the country as one level of constitution implementation has been achieved after the promulgation of the constitution.
He said the country has entered a new era and it should be steered ahead towards socialism by bringing stability, prosperity and the feel of good governance among the general public. The Maoist Center Chair said that now they would lead this campaign as a government of the leftist alliance has been already formed in the country.
“The people have reposed their trust in the leftist alliance with the belief that people in the leftist alliance can bring stability to the nation,” Prachanda said, adding that now the leaders of the leftist alliance should prove their mettle to the people.
Leader Prachanda noted the UML-Maoist Center unification has reached a decisive turning point, saying that both sides should move ahead by being alert as elements trying to wedge division were active.
Dahal and Prime Minister KP Oli had held talks at Balkot today to discuss the unification process. The party unification coordination committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.
He also called for creating pressure from all sides for party unification. “Put in your efforts from your respective places for the party unification in whichever party – UML or Maoist Center – you are. Public pressure would help in taking the unification to a conclusion very soon,” he added.
On the occasion, Dahal welcomed scores of cadres of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal including central member Anil Basnet, who had quit RJP and joined the Maoist Centre, into the party.
Before this, he had felicitated 103 veteran communist cadres based in the district amidst a programme organised at Hathilet, Bardibas-8 in the district.
Responding to journalists question at the program venue, he urged people not to have doubt the Maoist Center would not participate in the government. He said all things would be agreed in a package deal with UML including the party unification and his party would join the government only after that. RSS
