Constitution amendment must for avoiding conflict: Dr Bhattarai

LAHAN,March 20: Naya Shakti Party Nepal’s coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the country may see another conflict if the constitution was not amended.

Speaking at a press meet, leader Bhattarai, who is presently in Lahan in connection with the party cadres’ meeting and training (Province 1 and 2), said the Madhesi people had much dissatisfaction with the constitution, and their demand for amending the country’s main law must be addressed.

He took the time to accuse the Madhes-based leaders of being opportunists, suggesting that they should respect people’s mandate they have got for amending the constitution.

Earlier today, he reached the Lahan-based Martyrs’ Park to pay tributes to first martyr of Madhes Movement, Ramesh Mahato, and others.
