NCP unification task force submits report
KATHMANDU, Feb 21 (RSS): A taskforce formed for organizational unification of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has submitted its report on Thursday.
Taskforce Coordinator Ram Bahadur Thapa said that they have submitted the report of activities carried out so far including suggestions in today’s meeting of the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.
Coordinator Thapa said that all the members expressed their views on the report.
The standing committee meeting held on December 27, 2018, had formed nine-member taskforce under coordination of NCP Secretariat member, Thapa.
NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that discussion on the report submitted by the taskforce has begun.
Similarly, the taskforce demanded one more week to submit the complete report.
Taskforce member Yogesh Bhattarai said that they have demanded one more week to complete all unification process to conclude it soon as party unification has already been delayed.
Bhattarai said, “We failed to submit the full report due to various reasons. We have demanded one more week. We will submit the report to the Secretariat by finalizing all issues if one more week is given to the taskforce.”
The next meeting of the Secretariat has been scheduled on Friday. Although the Secretariat, the standing committee, the central committee and the province committees have already been formed after the formation of Nepal Communist Party following unification between the then CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) on May 17, 2018, the unification of the district and class organizations of the party has not been settled yet.
