Govt extends lockdown until June 2
KATHMANDU, May 17: The government has decided to extend the ongoing nationwide lockdown until June 2.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday decided to extend the lockdown by 15 more days in view of the rising cases and two deaths in two days.
Earlier, a meeting of the High-level Coordination Committee had recommended the government to extend the lockdown for the fifth time concluding it the only alternative to curb the pandemic that has killed two people and infected 295 across 29 districts.
The lockdown which came into effect on March 24, was previously extended on March 29, April 7, April 14, April 26 and May 6. The ongoing lockdown is ending on Monday.
