COVID-19: 3,403 new cases reported in past 24 hours
Kathmandu, 18th August : A total of 3,403 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The new cases were confirmed from 11,839 RT-PCR and 4,999 antigen tests conducted in various laboratories across the country.
This takes the COVID-19 caseload in the country to 739,907 till date. Similarly, 2,104 people enjoyed full recovery from the flu-like infection during the same period, taking the total recovery number to 689,173 as of now, the Ministry said in its routine press meet held here today virtually.
The number of active cases currently stands at 40,338. Among them, 33,808 were receiving treatment in home-isolation while 3,532 were being treated in institutional isolation. Altogether 770 COVID-19 patients were in ICU and 183 were with ventilator support.
Meanwhile, 42 COVID-19 patients died in the past 24 hours. So far 10,396 people have succumbed to Coronavirus infection. A total of 84,133 people were vaccinated in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said. As of today 3,649,760 people have been fully vaccinated in the country.
