KHOTANG, March 29: A total 3,142 people have been registered so far from the district under the first phase of the government introduced Health Insurance Scheme.
Under the insurance program, a family of five members is required to pay Rs 2,500 every year for the health insurance facility. Likewise, a family of more than five members has to pay extra Rs 450 per member annually.
A five-member family can, under the insurance scheme, claim Rs 50,000 worth of medical treatment, and Rs 10,000 will be added each person for a family of more than five members for the facility.
Launched by the Social Health Security Development Committee, Teku under the government through the District Public Health Office, the program started in Khotang from January 8.
Those who were registered between the Nepali months of Kartik and Poush this year have already started receiving the insurance facility from February 13, said the DPHO. RSS
