No guarantee on promulgation of statute: Dahal
Dadeldhura, June 20.UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said he cannot guarantee a timely delivery of a new constitution.
Dahal said that it would not be acceptable to his party if the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML tried to formulate what he called a ‘regressive’ constitution.
“We are not going to agree on drafting a pro-status-quo constitution. We have always been in favour of a progressive constitution,” he said.
He made the statement while addressing a press conference in Dadeldhura on Friday morning. Dahal stressed that all should exhibit utmost flexibility for framing a constitution in the stipulated time.
The Maoist supremo also alleged the CPN-UML for the government’s failure to nominate 26 remaining lawmakers in the CA.
On a different note, the former Prime Minister said that his party was not in favour of a single ethnicity based state.
Dahal along with top leaders of the party arrived in the district to address the Seti-Mahakali State level political training.
