Bill on contempt of court will be amended : DPM Singh
Kathmandu, June 26. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development Prakash Man Singh has said the Bill on contempt of court will be amended if found against the rights of public.
Speaking at the program organized in the Capital, Minister Singh said that there is still time to amend the Bill. He further said that “Discussion on the Bill is yet to happen in the parliament, it will be done in due time,.
He stressed that the correction can be made if there are any faults or if the bill is against the fundamental rights of public.
DPM Singh remarked that the protest against the bill led by the Nepal Journalists Association is being done in a hurry. Singh added that the government is aware on the protection of press freedom and citizen rights.
