Xi Jinping leaves for China

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: President of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping has returned to China after wrapping up a two-day official state visit of Nepal.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, cabinet ministers among others had seen off Xi at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday afternoon.

A contingent of Nepal Army personnel had given a guard of honor to visiting President Xi before he took off.

During his stay, Xi held bilateral meetings with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Nepal Communist Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and secretariat members, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timalsina.

Earlier on Sunday, Xi held delegation-level bilateral talks with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. Following the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the exchange of 18 MoUs and two letters of exchange related to the partnership with government bodies including the Ministries of Home, Foreign Affairs, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Agriculture and Livestock Development, Industry, Commerce and Supply and the Kathmandu metropolis.

The MoUs were exchanged at the presence of President Xi and Prime Minister Oli.
