NC leader Poudel to vie for Party President

Kapilvastu, Jan 16: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice-President Ramchandra Poudel has reiterated that he will vie for the post of party President through the upcoming general convention.

Speaking to the media at Kapilvastu on Saturday, leader Poudel said that his decision to contest for the position was in response to the demand of the party’s cadres across the country.

NC, the biggest political party in the Legislature-Parliament and now the major opposition, is going to hold its 13th general convention on March 3-6.

Poudel, who reached Kapilvastu today itself, condoled and paid tribute to the mother of NC Kapilvastu Chapter President Surendra Raj Acharya, Prabha Acharya over her demise.

Stating that the talks between the major three political parties and the agitating Madheshi leaders were inching towards conclusion, leader Poudel expressed his confidence that the Nepal and its countrymen will get rid of the inconvenience due to the border-blockade soon.
