Poudel says his candidacy to party president post at any cost

Damauli (Tanahun), Jan 27: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that he would not stay back from filing his candidacy to the post of president in its upcoming 13th general convention.

At a programme organised by Reporters’ Club Nepal, Tanahun, at Damauli today, NC Vice-President Poudel said that no force would stop him from becoming new NC president from the convention.

He expressed the belief that his contemporary NC leaders would support him in the election, saying it was need of the hour for him to lead NC in order to end factionalism within the party.

Leader Poudel further said that the convention would be held on time.

On a different note, he said that the new constitution was promulgated under NC leadership and that NC should also lead its implementation.

Speaking about giving an outlet to existing Tarai crisis, he viewed that agitating Madhesi-based political parties should withdraw their protest as most of their demands have been addressed.

He was also of the view that the Indian unofficial blockade would be lifted soon.
