Former Prez urges for resolution of Madhes problems



Kathmandu, Feb 23: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said the classical books and annals written in Newari and Maithali language are very significant at present time too.

Former President Yadav said so while inaugurating a programme organised by the Tej-Thirtha Trust here today.
On different note, he reminded that he had suggested the political parties to promulgate the new constitution by incorporating all communities including Madhesi, indigenous and Tharu on board.
The former President also drew the attention of the government and political parties to settle the problems facing Madhes.
On the occasion, he presented Tej-Tirtha Linguistic Literature Award to senior litterateur of Nepal Bhasa, Tilak Prasad Kayastha, and woman litterateur Dr Subarna Keshari Chitrakar.
The award carries a purse of Rs 50,000 and a letter of felicitation. Trust Chairman Tirtharam Dangol said the award was established to respect litterateurs for their contribution in Nepal Bhasa.
Dangol had provided Rs 10 million to establish the Trust.
