Minister Singh to knock SC door against EC’s decision
Kathmandu, March 9: Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Prem Bahadur Singh, has said that the Election Commission could not scrap any party.
At a news conference organised here today, Minister Singh said that he would move the Supreme Court on Thursday against the decision of EC of scrapping the registration of his party.
Accepting that his party failed to submit the income and expenditure details due to the earthquake and border blockade, also the Chairman of the Samajbadi Janata Party, Minister Singh said that EC’s decision of scrapping the party was not in favour of the constitution.
The EC on Friday had scrapped the registration of 15 political parties including the Samajbadi Janata Party after they failed to submit the income and expenditure details of three years within the given deadline.
