DPM Thapa expressed dissatisfaction over the formation of HLFIRDC

DANG: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa expressed dissatisfaction over the formation of High- Level Federalism Implementation and Restructuring Directive Committee.

The government on Friday formed the Committee to make policies and rules necessary to carry out the restructuring process as per the Constitution issued in September last year.

DPM Thapa speaking at an interaction organised by the Reporters’ Club in Dang on Saturday. Thapa said that he was not satisfied with the formation of High Level Federalism Implementation and Restructuring Directive Committee as Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development was not included in it.

Thapa added that he would discuss the matter with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli anytime soon. “The Cabinet meeting was called at 10 am yesterday, but the meeting was not started till 11 am. The Committee was formed after I left the Cabinet hall to attend another programme,” he said.

“The most important ministry to implement federalism is the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development,” Thapa said, adding, I think this is not premeditated, the issue can be resolved if I talk to the Prime Minister once.”

Moreover, he said that there is not need to seek an alternative to the incumbent government at present.
