UML CC endorses 19-point proposal
Kathmandu, April 15: The ruling party CPN-UML Central Committee ended on Friday endorsing the 19-point long political document proposed by the party Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
The meeting that began on last Saturday, endorsed the document with some amendments. It, however, failed to nominate members in various party departments as set in the agendas.
According to CC member, Bishnu Rimal, the meeting has decided to form party committees at the provincial level following the state restructuring as per the new Constitution after removing obstructions in the party statute.
Before conclusion of the meeting, Oli, also the Prime Minister, had answered questions raised by the party members over his dossier.
Oli had said that he did not want factionalism grow in the party. Earlier, he was accused of promoting factional activities in the party, mainly by members who are supposedly close to his rival leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.
Meanwhile, the meeting called agitating Madhesi parties to join the negotiations to solve the ongoing political unrest. It also urged all political forces to unite for implementation of the Constitution.
According to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, the meeting endorsed total 19 proposals on contemporary issues.
