Sanskrit Ashram resumes classes



Babiyachaur (Myagdi), April 30: The Shalgram Gandaki Veda Bidhya Ashram has resumed classes after remaining closed for the last three years.

The Ashram established 50 years ago shut down in 2013 owing to the paucity of students who were attracted more towards learning the English language.With the beginning of the new academic year in 2073 BS (2016), the school resumed its service with a new curriculum that includes Sanskrit and English subjects.

The Ashram, which runs largely under the fund collected from the offerings the devotees present during worship rituals at Galeshwor temple at Beni Municipality – 9, provides cost free hostel facility, uniform and meal for the students, Galeshwor Shivalaya Area Development Trust Chairman, Rudra Bahadur KC said.

Six students from Myagdi, Kaski and Mugu have already been admitted to the Ashram for the new academic year. The Ashram plans to enrol 15 students in total.

Of the total of 800 marks, Sanskrit and English will make up 500 marks while the rest will be allocated for Mathematics and Nepali subjects, KC elaborated. The school will run curriculum centred on Sanskrit subject and prepared by the Nepal Government.
