Federal Alliance’s pickets Singha Durbar

Kathmandu, May 15: The Federal Alliance of the Madhesh-based parties including the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) picketed Singha Durbar today.

The Alliance staged the demonstration in front of the Singha Durbar compound in Hanumanthan that houses country’s executive offices and Maitighar Mandala to press the government to address their demands. They shouted slogans against the government and constitution.

The protest was organized as per the Alliance’s previous announcement to launch capital-centric protest demanding that the constitution be rewritten to address the concerns of the minority communities including the Madhesi population.

The demand includes forming identity-based federal provinces and redrawing of their boundaries, among others.
