Seven including pilot dead in Fishtail chopper crash



Gorkha, Aug 8: A helicopter of the Fishtail Air crashed in Nuwakot, killing all seven onboard including a pilot and an ill infant. The chopper with the call sign 9 N- AKA was ferrying the five-day-old child to the capital for treatment.

The ill-fated chopper en route to the capital from the district hit the Chuchhe cliff in the Betani Forest of Madaanpur-9, Nuwakot at 12:32 pm before crash, according to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

Pilot captain Ranjan Limbu, passengers Kitman Gurung, Asami Gurung, Preeti Gurung, Laxmi Gurung, Nisha Tamang and the infant are confirmed dead in the crash.

The Authority said that a team of technicians and security personnel is already at the site to collect the bodies and preparations are on to airlift the bodies to the capital. RSS
