LBRC Report a landmark document, says Prime Minister Dahal



KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called the Local Body Restructuring Commission (LBRC) report a landmark document for the enforcement of constitution.
Thanking the commission Prime Minister Dahal remarked on Friday the report to be an important document that would have prudent outcome on implementation of constitution.
“We are in a very important phase of constitution implementation. The LRBC report is indeed an important and farsighted document which I believe to hand a great role in the employment of constitution.”
He also showed his gratitude to all political parties and groups who had facilitated in report preparing and asserted his commitment in application of report as soon as possible and instructed Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hitraj Pandey and Chief Secretary Dr Somlal Subedi to carry out necessry homework to its implication.
The 1,718-page report containing 16 volume submitted by the LBRC puts there will be no village units in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts while districts as Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang and Humla will not have a single municipality.
The report has suggested eight municipalities each in Jhapa, Morang, Dhanusha, Sarlahi and Kathmandu districts while 12 village units have been recommended for Rautahat.
It also recommends four Metropolitan Cities in Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lalitpur and Kaski districts, and 12 Sub-Metropolitan Cities, 241 municipalities, 462 village units and 719 local units with 6,553 VDCs.
