RJPN’s protest has no clear agenda, accuses Mahaseth

KAHTMANDU, June 14: Leader of the main opposition party Raghubir Mahaseth has said that Rastriya Janata Party Nepal that their agitation has no clear agenda and purpose.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Wednesday, Mahaseth said, “What do they want? They want election postponed or they want constitution amendment is not clear.”

“They should clearly put forward what they want from the government,” he said. “If they need time for the polling campaign, they should state it. Otherwise it will seem as if they are trying to escape from the election in different pretext.

Mahaseth further said that they are ready to become flexible with the demands of RJPN except in the matters of splitting  the country.

Claiming that there was excitement in Madhesi people about the upcoming local election, he said, “RJPN announced agitation for two reasons: they fear that their own people will not trust them in election; next they are afraid because they have not fulfilled that pledges they made to people.”

“The government is doing all it can to bring RJPN abroad the election,” he furthered, “We are not saying that RJPN should withdraw their demands and go for the election. We can do written commitment.
