KATHMANDU, Nov 30: CPN-UML leader and House of Representative candidate form Rupendahi constituency-2, Bishnu Poudel on Thursday said that Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is not qualified enough to teach UML the lesson of democracy. He also said that it does not suit a personality such as Deuba to speak that if left alliance wins the election, totalitarianism will be imposed in the country.

“Even his own family members do not believe Deuba’s accusation on left alliance, let alone people,” said the left alliance candidate, Poudel at an election interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal in Rupendahi.

Poudel, also the former finance minister, also claimed that the left alliance is a true democratic force. He said, “Deuba’s logics have no meaning at all. UML has always fought for democracy. The then monarch Gyanendra Shah dismissed Deuba from prime minister’s job two times, in 2002 and in 2005. The first time he was dismissed for failing to conduct elections. People know it. Obviously, Nepali Congress neither has quality to teach us lessons of democracy nor Deuba is qualified enough.”

Sating that people want peace, progress, development and prosperity, leader Poudel said, “The left alliance will harbor two-third majority in the parliamentary and province assembly elections and end the current political stalemate, while bringing an able government that will lead the country’s development and prosperity.

“CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) led the People’s Movement that abolished monarchy, constitution promulgation. We have played a key role in ending crisis. The left forces keep the ability to lead people oriented government. Therefore, people will elect us with a huge difference of votes in the elections.”

“NC seems to feel relieved when saying the left alliance will be defeated, but they will know after the election.”

Poudel also shared that the alliance will propose the name of prime minister once the election is conducted.

He also said the unification process between UML and Maoist Center will be materialized after the elections. He said, “Chair KP Oli and Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal are both committed to unification and establishing a single communist party. The left alliance has been formed with a single purpose of building a peaceful and happy Nepal, prosperous Nepal and leading the country towards socialism. The partnership between UML and Maoist Centers is not only focused for election purpose. The parties will be united after election.”

He further said that the left alliance will continue establishing co-operation with the democratic parties even after the elections,” he added.

Stating that the voters of Rupendahi want development and prosperity, he said he was committed for the same. He said, “Either Butwal, Tilottama or Saina Maina will be declared as the capital of Province 5. We have already initiated the process of constructing an airport of international standard. We have also made efforts to provide permanent solution to squatters’ problems. Also several other project of national pride that we initiated such as diverting the water of Kaligandaki into Tinau, Medical College, road construction in Belbase, Butwal-Lamahi-Kohalpur road, Butwal-Pokhara road, Postal Highway will be completed in time.”
