Dahal assures of exploring all alternatives to import gas



Kathmandu, March 12: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today assured of ending shortage of cooking gas in the market and of pressing the government to import the commodity from China.

Dahal responded to a memorandum submitted by the Gas Dealer Federation, Nepal representatives at his residence in Lazimpat, and said all alternatives would be explored for facilitating gas import.
The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman said the responsibility lied with both the government and the gas entrepreneurs to stop black marketeering of the cooking gas.
He also drew gas dealers’ attention towards the flourishing black market and growing irregularities whereas the need of the hour he emphasized was to facilitate the consumers.
The delegation led by Federation’s Chairman, Gyaneshwor Aryal, presented a memo demanding an ease in the supply of cooking gas, Dahal’s Press Coordinator, Surya Kiran Sharma said.
Dahal pledged to control black market trading in the market and stressed on need for efforts from all to create an environment so that during state visit to China, PM may seal an agreement on import of gas to Nepal.
He assured the delegates of taking up the issue with the government and the concerned ministers to find a solution, Federation’s Chair Aryal said.
