‘Government preparing to pursue economic development’



Kathmandu, Jan 5 : Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said the government was working to pursue economic development along with social justice.

“We are not only navigating for political changes. What we want is economic and social changes alongside happiness and prosperity,” he said while inaugurating the 24th annual general assembly of the Courier Service Association of Nepal here on Saturday.

Informing that the government was preparing to make laws related to mass communications, he urged concerned authorities to provide constructive inputs in this regard. The government would develop postal service in a model of authority, he said.

The general assembly elected a 15-member working committee led by Gobinda Dhungel. Devendra Khadka was elected senior vice president.

Durga Prasad Subedi and Anil Rajbhandari were chosen as vice president. Similarly, Sanjaya Mandal, Raj Kumar Samari and Tilraj Khatiwada were elected general secretary, treasurer and secretary respectively. RSS
