Government will not change: DPM Gachhadar

Biratnagar, March 13: Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar today made it clear that the incumbent government would not change now.

Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport, DPM Gachhadar underscored the importance of a national consensual government in order to implement the new constitution, resolve the national problems and usher in economic progress.
He said it was crucial the parties focused on ending the country’s political problem and holding local body elections.
The DPM reiterated his former stance that the big parties including the Nepali Congress must reach an agreement on resolving the contentious issues over a fresh demarcation of the provincial borders.
DPM Gachhadar responded to a query put forth by a journalist as regards to solution to the agitation launched by United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and stated, “It is not unusual that there are oppositions and agitations in a democratic process, but people should not be made to suffer under strikes.”
The DPM said ‘this is a right thing’ that newly elected Nepali Congress President, Sher Bahadur Deuba, decided on remaining in the opposition. He further stressed that the party must lend constructive support to the government in resolving the Tarai-Madhes problem.
