Govt committed to end corruption : PM Oli

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government was determined to combat corrupt practices in the country.

Addressing the 28th establishment of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority here today, Prime Minister Oli said combating and abolishing corruption was essential for good governance and development. He however expressed concern over the increasing tendency of hiding corruption.

“It is not possible for a corrupt to hide or hide their corruption, the corrupt are hated by their spouse and children”, he said while adding that corruption was a common enemy of all.

The Prime Minister also said that the success of the CIAA was the success of the government and of Nepal’s development process and of democracy. We also need to end corruption so that we no longer have to spread our hands for support but reach a stage where we can support others.

On the occasion, CIAA Chief Nabin Kumar Ghimire said the Commission was working on procedural reforms to effectively implement the measures to control corruption-related activities. RSS
