Govt. ready to invest in health sector: DPM Yadav

Lahan, Jan 11 : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, has said the government was ready to invest for the improvement of health sector in Province 2.

Opening the building of Primary Health Post constructed at Mirchaiya Municipality-7 of Siraha on Friday, DPM Yadav hoped that the investment in health sector here would better the health status of people as compared to others.

He made it clear that primary health centre would be constructed at every rural municipality and health post at every ward as per the government’s policy, saying Province 2 is far behind other provinces- even Karnali Province- in terms of education and health.

The DPM however expressed the belief that the health sector in Province 2 would make a stride after the operation of Ramraja Prasad Singh Academy of Health and Sciences, as the construction process has been forwarded for the same.

Similarly, Minister for Urban Development Istiyak Raya claimed that development activities of in the Province would get momentum as a project of Rs 1 billion was approved for the development of Lahan and construction of smart city at Mirchaiya.

On the occasion, DPM Yadav and Minister Raya honoured the locals who donated 16 katthas and 10 dhur of land as well as cash for the construction of the building.

The 15-bed quake resistant health centre was constructed at the cost of Rs 61.7 million provided by the Urban Development Ministry. RSS
