HLPC to sit for talks with dissenting parties

KATHMANDU: The high-level political committee (HLPC) led by UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda formed to assist the election government has decided to hold talks with the dissenting political parties including CPN-Maoist and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal to bring them on board elections. The talks are scheduled for tomorrow.

Some two dozen fringe parties have been taking to the streets challenging the four-party agreement and have repeatedly warned to boycott the CA polls if they were neglected by the four-party ‘syndicate’.

A meeting of the committee took a decision to this effect this morning. During the meeting, the leaders of the four political powers also agreed to give a full shape to the National Planning Commission (NPC). As per the agreement, Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) would get their shares in the NPC.

Currently, planners affiliated to the UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Morcha have been serving in the NPC.
