KATHMANDU, May 24: Kiran Khatiwada, the producer and director of Nepal’s first award winning Santhali film ‘Bonodal’, is all set to step into Bollywood industry.
Khatiwada is preparing to produce his first Hindi feature film ‘Tujhsa Zameen Pe Kahan’ this year. According to Khatiwada, The feature film will be shot in 29 different states of India and three states of Nepal.
Khatiwada has received a good recognition from Bonodal, which was performed in the last year’s Santhali Film Festival in Jharkhand and the film likewise won the honor. He said that the proposed feature film will have a deep association with Jamshedpur, a large city located between the Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers in the east-Indian state of Jharkhand.
He said that he has waited for this moment for a long time, to enter into Indian cinema–the largest film industry in the world in terms of film production with an annual output of 1986 feature films as of 2017.
“All the credit goes to Bonodal,” he said.
The versatile director is also planning to feature new and talented local artists in the film. Khatiwada will be seen in the lead role, while in his opposite role will be co-star actress Sisam Malla and Dimple Kharel. The story of the film will be based on social awareness.
Kiran said that the work of the pre-production of the film is going ahead in full fledge at the head office based in Birtamod, Jhapa.
The film will be produced under the banner ‘Inspire Media Production Pvt Ltd. The film will have total five songs, in which music will be given by Kiran himself. The shooting of the feature movie, being produced at the cost of around 250 million NRS, will start from September 2018, according to Khatiwada.
