Lawmakers focus on collective and contract farming

KATHMANDU, May 25: The National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament has continued deliberations on the government’s policy and program for the fiscal year 2018/19 on the third day on Friday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had presented the policy and program in the joint session of the House of Representatives and National Assembly on Monday.

Taking part in the meeting, most of the lawmakers have focused on the implementation part of the policy and program.

Lawmaker Khim Lal Bhattarai said that there was no alternate of implementing the policy and program to translate the programs of development and prosperity into the action.

Lawmaker Jitendra Dev termed the policy and program as the manifesto of communist party.

Lawmaker Hariram Chaudhary opined to put the infrastructure, tourism and hydropower development in the first priority.

Similarly, lawmaker Ramesh Yadav focused on modernization, professionalization and mechanization of the agro sectors.

Lawmaker Narapatni Luhar opined for introducing of the collective contract and cooperative farming system.

Similarly, lawmakers Uday Sharma Poudel, Dhankumari Khatiwada, Kali Bahadur Malla, Kamala Kumari Oli, Prakash Panta, Nainkala Budha, Khim Kumari Bishwakarma, Sher Bahadur Kunwar, Khemraj Nepali among others had expressed their views on government’s policy and program.

The next meeting of the NA is scheduled at 1:00 pm May 27. RSS
