KATHMANDU, June 9: The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology (NBSM) Regional Office, Balaju has continued taking legal action against traders and businessmen selling products without going through measurement tests.
Office Chief Shashi Bhusan Kumar Yadav said, “We have found that many businessmen are selling and distributing products without measurement tests, so we have advanced action against them.”
The office collected Rs 9.8 million in revenue from tests and distribution of new permits by May 14 of the ongoing fiscal year. The revenue was collected from tests carried out on 10,578 products and distribution of new permits.
The office has been distributing permission for new weighing and measurement devices, testing the measurement devices, monitoring the petrol pumps, vehicular tanks among other works. RSS
