KATHMANDU, April 22: Eleven months after the announcement of unification between the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center), the Nepal Communist Party has concluded the merger at district level committees.

A meeting of nine-member party secretariat held at Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar on Sunday evening elected chairpersons and co-chairpersons in all the 77 districts to conclude the merger.

Of the total 77 districts, 44 leaderships have been given to former UML while former Maoist Center will head 33 districts.

Prime Minister and Co-chair KP Sharma Oli, co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalnath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam, Ishwor Pokhrel, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Bishnu Paudel were present in the meeting.
