PM Oli is surrounded by corrupts: Bhandari

Bhandari

KATHMANDU, April 16: Main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Chandra Bhandari has said that Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is surrounded by the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. He argued that the incumbent government has failed to check corruption in the country.

“The government has failed to probe into the irregularities in the procurement process of the two Nepal Airlines Corporation wide-body aircraft, Melamchi Drinking Water Project and Baluwatar land grab case,” Bhandari told Reporters’ Club Nepal.

“It is because PM Oli is surrounded by the corrupts, and he hesitating to take action,” he added.

Bhandari also denied that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has any involvement in the irregularities in NAC wide body aircraft.

“President Deuba himself is demanding a thorough investigation into the embezzlement of Rs 4.35 billion in the procurement process of the A330-200 Airbuses. Why would he commit corruption?”

Earlier, Lawmaker Hridayesh Tripathi, in a popular television talk show Janata Janna Chahanchan, had made the revelation that top three leaders of top political parties Oli, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Deuba were all involved in the irregularities.
