North Korean Ambassador pays courtesy call on Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU, July 13: North Korean Ambassador to Nepal Kim Yong Hak has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’.

The meeting held in the o Office of Home Affairs on Friday was focused on the bilateral relationship between the two countries and mutual cooperation and collaboration.

During the meeting, Minister Thapa welcomed the North Korea’s move to initiate talks and meetings with the USA and South Korea thus expressing his confidence that these would yield positive results.

Minister Thapa commended that the North Korean would stand as an inspiration to other countries when it comes to patriotism. Stating that North Korea had developed a new technology for garment and other sectors, he expressed that Nepal was keen to introduce that technology.

In response, North Korean envoy Hak talked about North Korea-Nepal relation and stressed on taking the ties to further greater height.

He mentioned about the hassles surrounding the visa process for the North Koreans visiting Nepal for employment to which Minister Thapa responded. “We will immediately take necessary measures to address this issue.”

The North Korean envoy also extended his best wishes to Minister Thapa for his successful tenure and extended an invitation to Home Minister Thapa for North Korea visit on its National Day. RSS
